FedEx has announced that city and road drivers at the FedEx Freight service centre in Charlotte, North Carolina have voted to decertify the Teamsters Union as their bargaining representative.
The freight division of the logistics giant has said that management of the firm were ‘pleased’ because FedEx believe its “thriving, competitive work environment provides a more flexible, team-oriented, and customer-focused work model than the union can offer”.
The FedEx statement added: “Similarly, after voting in favour of union representation in 2014, city and road drivers at the FedEx Freight service centre in Croydon, Pennsylvania have recently filed a petition with the National Labour Relations Board (NLRB) seeking to decertify the Teamsters union as their bargaining representative. A decertification election date has been set for July 19.”
