The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) and British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) are exploring the possibilities of a merger.
Though nothing is concrete both organisations have said that they will make announcements as the process takes place.
FLTA chief executive Tim Waples said: “Merging would allow us to play to our combined strengths. It will enable us to further enhance member benefits and facilitate networking and sharing of information between the different membership groups.”
James Clark, secretary general at BITA, said: “Although we are still at the discussion stage, both associations are keen to ensure complete transparency. We want to make certain that all stakeholders are kept fully informed of developments and have ample opportunity to contribute their views and suggestions.”
