New UK online marketplace Flubit has announced that it is recruiting retailers to join its new Flubit Go one hour delivery service.
Flubit announced that it plans to launch the one hour service in partnership with one hour delivery company On the dot back in July this year.
In a statement posted on its blog yesterday, Flubit said: “The app-based service (launching in Q4, 2016) allows consumers, initially in the London, Birmingham and Manchester metropolitan areas, to select from millions of branded products, at significantly lower prices than available from Amazon, then choose a same-day, one-hour delivery slot to suit their schedule.”
Flubit added it is now “actively recruiting” retailers to join the service. In order to participate, retailers have to hold stock within a 10-mile radius of London, Birmingham or Manchester, and be able to pick and pack an order ready for same day collection.
Flubit is an online marketplace that aims to undercut Amazon. On its website it tells customers to copy and paste an Amazon url with the product of their choice onto a search engine in Flubit and the company says that the customer will get at least a 10% discount on the price offered by Amazon.
On the dot is a courier service that delivers goods within the hour to customers – it is a B2C service as opposed to a B2B courier. The partnership between the two companies seems to be aiming at the Amazon Prime Now service. With Sainsburys / Argos about to join the party, the same hour delivery market in some metropolitan areas is likely to get quite crowded quickly in the medium term…
