Forward Air buys FSA Logistix

US air freight company Forward Air Corp has acquired last mile logistics company FSA Logistix for $27 million in cash as well as what Forward Air described as “additional contingent consideration” based upon future revenue generation.

The deal, due to be closed sometime in April is expected to add $75 million in revenues for the Greenville, Tennessee based Forward Air. FSA Logistix is to be integrated into the last-mile division of Forward Air’s expedited less than truckload (LTL) division, which is the largest division in the company.

Based in Fort Lauderdale, FSA Logistix offers last-mile logistics to retailers, online retail operations and third-party logistics providers, companies that serve as intermediaries between shippers and carriers. The company operates in the eastern, midwestern, southwestern and western regions of the US.
