Turkish food and grocery within-the-hour delivery company Getir has applied for a 24 hour alcohol sales license from Bradford Council in a move believed to mark a planned expansion to the northern city.
If granted it would operate out of a micro-fulfilment centre in the Napoleon Business Park on Wakefield Road.
Founded in Turkey in 2015, Getir currently operates in Central London. Earlier this week it was refused a 24 hour alcohol sales license by Brighton City Council, who instead granted the firm a license to operate until 11pm every evening.
As with so many other within-the-hour delivery platforms, Getir is seeking to expand its operations, presumably with the unique selling point of fast alcohol delivery, 24 hours a day. It isn’t known to have achieved such an aim outside of London thanks to licenses being refused.
