On demand delivery service Gett Delivery has appointed the former senior manager at AmazonFresh Malte Poppensieker to be the head of delivery at the company.

Gett offers on demand delivery but also delivery as a service (DaaS) to a number of retailers and logistics businesses for same day pick up and deliveries, as well as returns and to improve their last mile delivery.

Poppensieker will be responsible for ensuring that Gett Delivery’s upcoming projects will be delivered to the firm’s clients and partners successfully, while maintaining profitability. This will involve putting in place the correct processes ahead of the future rollout of the on-demand courier service into additional London zones and cities in the UK, where Gett’s taxi hailing business is already in operation.

Matteo De Renzi, Gett’s UK chief executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome Malte to the Gett Delivery team. His previous experience at AmazonFresh is particularly relevant for Gett Delivery at this point in time as the company looks to expand its services to other locations in the UK.”
