Gett returns to CollectPlus

Click and collect giant CollectPlus and couriers Gett have together launched a £1.95 returns service for Zones 1 and 2 in central London. Gett Delivery couriers will collect a customer’s returns and deliver them to the CollectPlus network within the hour.

Online shoppers who are in central London can now use the service, that is powered by the Gett app. They can return their unwanted purchase to one of more than 300 retailers that work with CollectPlus. These include John Lewis, ASOS and New Look. While the service is currently available for those in Zones 1 and 2, it is expected that Gett will extend the service to those in Zone 3 in the near future.

The customer using the Gett app selects the CollectPlus returns option. Under the scheme, a courier is guaranteed to collect the item within ten minutes of the order being made. The goods are then taken to the nearest CollectPlus point. It is available from 0900-2300, seven days a week, and costs the user £1.95 per item taken to the CollectPlus store.

CollectPlus and Gett state that while this service is being trialled in central London, they plan on expanding it to a number of major cities around the UK in the coming months. With the B2C courier market being flooded with new entrants (and no major player going under just yet) it remains to be seen what innovations the industry can make to help them carve a niche for thriving in a sector that may yet see major failures…
