GFS adds DPD PickUp network to Checkout

Global Freight Solutions (GFS) has added European delivery company DPD PickUp parcel shop network to its range of delivery options available via its Checkout system.

The GFS Checkout system offers a mix of standard, express and alternative delivery methods, and has been running since September 2014. The hookup with DPD’s PickUp system offers a greater number of options to the customer using the GFS system.

Director of GFS Simon Veale said, “The presence of DPD PickUp increases the degree of flexibility and proximity and is something which we are sure will be of tremendous additional appeal.”

The DPD PickUp solutions have been available since June 2015 and is one of the ‘in flight’ options available to customers should the customer say that they are not at home at the time of delivery. DPD contacts all of their customers ahead of the parcel being delivered to allow them to say whether or not they will be in.

CEO of DPD Dwain McDonald said of the GFS offer, “Our home delivery services have won many awards but we acknowledge that we can’t stand still and must innovate to meet the changing delivery demands of consumers and retailers into the future.

“Being included in such a broad portfolio of delivery options as GFS Checkout means that more online shops and shoppers can potentially take advantage of the benefits which DPD PickUp represents.”

DPD has been given a number of awards for its excellent customer service, and GFS will considerably help the company’s business. GFS is a platform used by many major e-commerce companies and this is a coup for the medium sized delivery company.
