GLS delivers parcels for DB Schenker customers

Pan European parcel delivery operator GLS has announced that it has started delivering parcels in Germany on behalf of international logistics company DB Schenker beginning this month, and in return DB Schenker will transport cargo on pallets for GLS customers in the coming months.

In September last year, GLS and DB Schenker announced that they were forming a strategic partnership.

GLS confirmed that it has started the parcel deliveries in Germany and said in a statement, “From now on German customers of DB Schenker can hand over anything they wish to send, from parcels to complete cargo. GLS now handles the national and European-wide distribution of parcels. The IT interfaces between the two and their business processes were adjusted ahead of time, warranting smooth procedures and transparency.

“The aim of DB Schenker is to offer European-wide parcel logistics through GLS, thus providing a full range of services in its land transport product portfolio. The two companies are already cooperating in Denmark, Sweden and Austria. The parcel cooperation in Germany is a further milestone in the collaboration between the two companies.”
