GLS offers FlexDeliveryService in Ireland

Royal Mail’s international arm GLS has announced that online retailers in Ireland are now able to use its FlexDeliveryService and offer their international customers other, more convenient delivery options.

The FlexDeliveryService offered by GLS now operates in 14 countries. Under the scheme, customers of client retailers can choose from a range of delivery options including delivery of a specific day or delivery to a certain GLS ParcelShop. Depending on its reach in a certain country, the Royal Mail subsidiary offers delivery in the evening, can leave the parcels at a secure location or leave it at a GLS parcel locker terminal.

Under the FlexDeliveryService, GLS will inform customers in advance of when their parcel will be delivered. If no one will be at home, the parcel can also be diverted while en route to the address.

“Its international network is one of the particular strengths of GLS,” says Andreas Rickert, Managing Director of GLS Ireland. “Thanks to the close integration of Ireland, we can provide high-quality support for cross-border e-commerce – including with our recently introduced ShopReturnService .”
