After landing C$9.8 million in seed funding, GoFor Industries has announced plans to bring its construction industry on-demand last mile delivery service to more markets in the US and Canada.
As part of the business plan, GoFor Industries is to expand out of B2B deliveries for construction companies into do-it-yourself home improvement consumers. This last group of consumers are increasingly buying their goods online in a fast-growth sector.
“It’s forcing a transformation — a move to e-commerce — in verticals that have been laggards for a while,” GoFor CEO Brad Rollo told FreightWaves.
In the seed funding around Builders VC led the round along with CEMEX Ventures, Mucker Capital, Plug and Play Ventures, Panache Ventures, I2BF Global Ventures and the Capital Angel Network.
The company is to use some of the new capital to launch a new dispatch platform called GoFor Dispatch that helps retailers and fleet operators manage their fleet movements. In addition the funding is to accelerate the expansion of its retail partner network in North America.
“We’ve been serving big construction companies and big homebuilders. Now we’re stretching to the consumer side. It’s DIY time for a lot of people,” Rollo said.
