UK omnichannel retailer Next has been one of the winners of the peak season. It reported that its online business performed ‘particularly well’ in the 54 days to Christmas.
Next released a trading statement issued today (3rd January) where it said that its full price sales across all channels in the 54 days between 1 November and the 24th December were up 1.5% against last year’s sales.
For the same period, Next online sales were up 13.6% on the same period last year.
Next commented: “Both channels experienced an improvement in sales, with our Online business performing particularly well. We believe part of this improvement has been down to much colder weather leading up to Christmas.”
The retailer said that the better than expected full price sales has meant that it has marginally upgraded its profit guidance for the full year to January 2018 by £8m to £725m.
