Seko Logistics is to be taken over by Hermes Germany on the 1st September. Seko specialises in international supply chain services including freight and IT solutions. It has offices in Bremen and Frankfurt.
“The acquisition will not only create synergy effects for the entire Hermes Group,” said Stephan Schiller, Managing Director of Hermes Europe. The existing customers of both companies would also benefit from the expansion of the product portfolio, for example by having access to fulfillment solutions in the USA, Asia and Europe .
The acquisition also makes Hermes Germany a permanent partner of the global Seko Logistics network. Based in the US it has more than 120 offices in 40 countries. It focuses on omnichannel logistics, two-man handling, technology , international air and sea freight, land transport, combined transport, and demand Chain Solutions, Warehousing and Logistics Services.
Hermes Group say that this opens up the potential for more international growth with a focus on e-commerce markets in the US, EU and Asia. From Seko Logistics’ point of view it benefits from the extensive Hermes network in Europe. With Border Guru and Seko Omni Parcel, both companies are bringing start-ups specialising in cross-border e-commerce solutions.
