Hermes has launched a new app that helps its retailer clients deliver a better customer delivery experience.
Online shoppers using the Hermes app will have enhanced visibility, more choice and control as to how they receive their parcels.
The new Hermes app is available on iOS and Android and allows tracking of parcels as well as notifications the parcel has reached certain points on its journey to the customer. The customer can re-route the parcel to a neighbour or safe place, with the option to have it sent to a parcel locker or Parcel Shop later this year. The system also works with returns.
For those without printers the app provides a QR code that can be printed at a Parcel Shop.
Later this year, Hermes Play will be integrated into the app, where the sender can send a personalised video message to the customer, which will involve scanning a 2D barcode.
Smaller clients such as marketplace sellers, sole traders and individuals will be able to use the app to book deliveries.
Chris Ashworth, CIO at Hermes, said: “Our dedicated team of innovators and specialist developers are continuing to shape the future of home deliveries by creating a wave of new and exciting products. This app provides a foundation for many of these new features, which are designed to drive a greater customer experience for our retail clients.”
