Hermes tracking through Google Assistant

Last mile delivery firm Hermes has announced it has become the first parcel delivery firm in the UK to fully integrate its tracking solution with the Google Assistant voice system.

Hermes had another first earlier this year with its integration with the Amazon Echo (Alexa) system.

Those waiting for a parcel through the B2C e-commerce delivery network or the myHermes C2C delivery network can now track their parcels through Google Assistant.

Google Assistant is part of the Google Home device, and on a number of Google and Android smartphones and mobile devices. The tracking system is also for goods being returned to retailers.

The integration was carried out by the Hermes Innovation Lab.

David Turner, the company’s Head of Innovation, said: “The completion of this latest project signifies the importance we place on developing our service offering and providing additional value to our customers, focusing on convenience. We are excited to become the first parcel delivery company in the UK to complete this integration and we look forward to unveiling even more exciting solutions in the near future.”
