Hermes UK is to offer ParcelShop services at Tesco Express convenience stores nationwide.
The first phase of the rollout of Hermes ParcelShop services is to begin on the 6th September and will be at most Tesco Express stores within the year.
This comes as out-of-home delivery options are increasingly being offered to avoid missed deliveries. Currently the ParcelShop service is offered at 6,000 independent retailers, lockers and retail groups. The carrier says that by 2022, it plans for 80% of the UK population to be within a 10 minute walk of their nearest ParcelShop or locker. In the next year, Hermes UK expects to deliver more than 80 million parcels through its out-of-home offerings.
Kath Gill, head of ParcelShop Services at Hermes, said: “We’re really excited to announce our new partnership with Tesco.
“It will make Hermes ParcelShop services even more accessible to people across the UK.
“It comes at a time when we know people are looking for maximum convenience and options for sending, receiving and returning their parcels.
“The last 18 months have demonstrated the importance of being able to meet ever-changing consumer demands when it comes to both online shopping and customer-to-customer sending, so we continue to invest in our infrastructure, technology and services to support the nation.”
