House of Fraser / XPO Logistics dispute – HoF cancels online orders

Trouble department store chain House of Frasier is cancelling orders that have not already been sent to customers over a dispute regarding payment to XPO logistics, that operates its distribution centres in Milton Keynes and Wellingborough.

House of Fraser was bought out of administration by Sports Direct last week in a deal that includes all UK stores, the HoF brand, and all the stock in the business. Sports Direct is currently holding talks with suppliers of House of Fraser.

XPO Logistics is a creditor of the old House of Fraser business, and no work has taken place at the distribution centres since House of Fraser went into administration.

The House of Fraser web site was suspended earlier this week and on Thursday (16th August) the retailer used twitter to tell customers of decision to cancel orders, saying: “Due to delays with delivering online orders, we have taken the decision to cancel and refund all orders that have not already been sent to customers. All customers affected will receive an email in the next couple of days. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.”

It continued, “Due to delays with delivering online orders, we have taken the decision to cancel and refund all orders that have not already been sent to customers. All customers affected will receive an email in the next couple of days. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
