Inpax loses Amazon delivery contract

US last mile delivery company Inpax Final Mile Delivery is to lay off 718 jobs from various facilities across the US thanks to Amazon ending a delivery contract with it.

The layoffs will include 162 in Georgia, 128 in Ohio, 200 in North Carolina and 228 in Texas. The job cuts are happening already with the first cuts taking place on October 2nd. The programme is to be completed by 1st December. Manager, driver and dispatcher roles will all be affected in the round of cuts.

Amazon confirmed the cut to local media outlets, which reported that it had completed a review process evaluating ‘safety’ and ‘customer experience’.
