Japan Airlines and Yabu City agree drone cooperation

In other drone news, Japan Airlines and Yabu City in Japan have agreed to perform drone trials from spring this year.

The plan is to demonstrate the ability for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to deliver emergency goods in mountainous areas with drones from the Terra Drone Corporation.

They are to be tested on a 25km route between Yoka Municipal Hospital to Deai Clinic over the Yagi River. The UAVs are to transport relief supplies in emergency situations.

There are plans afoot at Japan Airlines to deliver medical supplies to remote areas using UAVs. At the same time, Yabu City has announced it is to use drones in agriculture and will look to expand their use into other fields such as disaster, logistics and medical care assistance.
