Just Eat sees 25% growth in orders

UK based, international hot food delivery firm Just Eat Takeaway has reported its order volumes grew by 25% to 266 million worldwide in the third financial quarter of the year.

Highlights of this included a 51% growth in order volumes in the UK, hitting 200 million orders, a market in which it is investing in heavily. It has now had more than one billion orders in the UK since the company was founded. Its new operations in Germany saw 10 million orders, representing a 35% growth year on year.

Just Eat’s US operations didn’t fare so well, with growth of a more pedestrian 3% compared to Q3 2020. There it has just acquired rival GrubHub and the firm is focusing its efforts on developing GrubHub’s old business to achieve similar growth to that of its other markets.

“With most of the world returning to pre-pandemic life, our growth in the third quarter of 2021 has remained strong. Just Eat Takeaway.com is well-positioned for autumn and winter, our traditional growth season,” Chief Executive Officer Jitse Groen said in a statement.
