La Poste’s Pickup to install parcel lockers at people’s homes

La Groupe La Poste’s Pickup parcel shop network is offering private residents personal parcel lockers to go next to their standard letterboxes.

The carrier agnostic parcel boxes will be installed at apartment complexes as well as houses. This will allow residents to be away from home when all but the largest parcels are being delivered, and they can collect them 24/7.

Currently La Poste is piloting the programme with a view to full roll out of the offering by early summer. This will reduce the company’s carbon emissions thanks to fewer missed deliveries.

Pickup is a subsidiary of La Groupe La Poste and DPDgroup, and has 15,000 parcel shops and 500 lockers nationwide, making it the biggest such PUDO operator in France.
