There has been a ‘significant’ fire at ArrowXL’s Worcester hub. ArrowXL is a leading two man delivery specialist.
ArrowXL has released a statement that says it has a disaster recovery plan in place to deal with the situation.
The company said, “The 200,000 sq ft building has been evacuated and all colleagues have been accounted for and are safe and well, with the safety of our staff being our number one priority.
“Equally, plans are being finalised for our customers to move operations from Worcester to a group owned site.”
Between 150 – 200 staff are generally based at the ArrowXL Worcester hub at any one time, that handles deliveries for the Midlands and the South West of England.
Supt Kevin Purcell of West Mercia Police said: “Officers from West Mercia Police are at the scene of a significant fire on Blackpole industrial estate where they are assisting Hereford and Worcester Fire Service with road closures.
“The fire has been declared a major incident.
“Significant road closures are in place and we advise drivers to avoid the area and residents to keep their windows and doors closed.”
ArrowXL’s Worcester hub has been operating since 1994. It is one of four hubs and 17 satellite bases. ArrowXL operate 230 delivery vehicles on the road six days a week.
