Melanie Kreis has been appointed as Deutsche Post DHL ‘s new Chief Financial Officer. She will succeed Lawrence Rosen who will be retiring on the 30th of September.
Kreis has been Member of the Board for Human Resources at the German postal and delivery company since 2014. She will retain this responsibility for the interim.
She began her career with McKinsey and Company in 1997 before moving to Apax Partners Private Equity. Kreis then joined DPDHL in 2004 with the express intent of focusing on international mergers and acquisitions (M&A) projects. Before joining the Board of Human Resources at Deutsche Post DHL she was CFO of DHL Express.
“Melanie Kreis has significantly improved our HR processes, reinforced a trustful and constructive dialogue with our social partner and further strengthened our international HR focus. As an experienced leader with proven expertise in finance, including a broad range of management competencies, she will make an important contribution towards the successful execution of Strategy 2020,” said Frank Appel, CEO Deutsche Post DHL Group.
The move comes at a good time for the company that is taking advantage of the weakness of its major competitor FedEx as it goes through its merger with TNT. What with the rocketing e-commerce delivery market across the EU, the company should be seeing very good returns in the coming years.
