Germany based Metro Group has bought the premium foods supplier Rungis Express. This is to expend its Metro Cash & Carry wholesale operations.
If approved by the EC antitrust commissioners, the Dusseldorf retail group will acquire the German and international business of Rungis Express with its HQ in Meckenheim, as well as its logistics and service activities.
Rungis Express is a company that leads in the field of food service distribution, specifically the direct delivery of premium foods to customers from the hotel, restaurant and catering sector. The company was part of the Cool Chain Group that operates a number of trading and logistics activities.
