Naked Wines to use InPost

Online wine cellars Naked Wines is to use the InPost parcel locker network for its wine deliveries. This gives the social economy wine merchant’s customers access to more than 1100 parcel lockers across the UK.

The customer funded wine business, that deals direct with wineries to cut out the middleman, has around 300,000 subscribers it calls ‘Angels’.

Eamon Fitzgerald, Naked Wines’ UK Managing Director, commented: “We’re delighted to roll out this service to our customers in partnership with InPost UK. Our Angel customers invest in our wines up-front, and deserve to get their wines when it suits them. We’re always looking for ways to make life easier for our customers, and InPost’s national footprint and logistics expertise are the perfect solution.”

One of the drives in e-commerce has been toward ever greater convenience in terms of delivery options available to customers. InPost opens doors for Naked Wines in this regard.

Ian Caminsky, CEO at InPost UK, added: “The new partnership with Naked Wines is a very exciting one for us.  Until now, we have traditionally partnered with clothing retailers and selected food retailers.  To add a successful wine business like Naked Wines to our portfolio is a great step into a new sector. They are a prime example of how popular click and collect has become and the importance of a great customer experience.” For InPost this shows that they can move away from their core market and be available to clients in different sectors.

So for both companies, a hopefully fruitful and full bodied symbiosis that may well reap rewards.
