Amazon has announced plans to open a new fulfilment centre in Bolton in 2018, adding to its capacity in the NW of England.
The online giant opened its first fulfilment centre in the NW of England in 2016 in Manchester. In April this year, it said it would open a new site in Warrington, and the latest announcement to have one in Bolton will bring the number in the region to three.
There are currently 16 fulfilment centres run by Amazon in the UK. As well as sites which have recently opened in Warrington, Tilbury and a new site in Doncaster, there are two further fulfilment centres in Doncaster and one each in Coalville (Leicestershire), Daventry, Dunfermline, Dunstable, Gourock, Hemel Hempstead, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Rugeley and Swansea Bay. A UK receive centre will also open in Coventry in 2018.
