New DG at Posta Romana

Romanian postal operator Posta Romana has appointed Valentin Stefan as its new Director General. He replaces Horia Grigorescu who is stepping down to pursue other opportunities.

Stefan was previously deputy general manager at the state owned postal operator.

Posta Romana has the biggest distribution network in the country with 24,000 staff working out of 5,500 units. More than 19 million people benefit from its services at over 7.5 million addresses. It is undergoing a €40 million change programme thanks to taking a loan out with Eximbank out in 2020.

The Romanian government owns 93.52% of the postal operator, with the remainder held by private property restitution fund Fondul Proprietatea.
