The Palletways continues to grow its business in Europe and the UK, with a new hub in Lyon, SE France that will be operational from mid April. With the new hub the network should increase the visibility of the company in France while improving the frequency and cost efficiency of services between France and the UK.
The new hub comes as part of a major hub development programme across Europe. This is intended to continuously enhance the company’s collection and delivery services for its customers. Palletways has recently invested in new hubs in Montpelier (in SW france), Fradley in the UK as well as expanding its existing facilities in Zaragoza in Spain and Milan in Italy. The company also plans on opening another new hub in Homberg, Germany this summer.
Rachael Alpha, Managing Director at Palletways Europe GmbH, said: “2015 was a record year for the group and in 2016, our focus will be on continuously improving our infrastructure and bolstering connections and service quality across the 20 European countries in which we operate.
“The Lyon hub will support our growth ambitions in France and will enhance our pan-European offering, including to our customers in the UK.”
James Wilson, Chief Executive at Palletways, added: “This development is a key part of our strategy to maintain our position as the number one pallet network in Europe. It will help us to meet our target of over 8 million pallet movements across Europe over the coming year.”
The new hub will be fully supported by Palletways IT platform and customer service operation, enabling real time visibility of all consignments at throughout their journey.
