Ocado plans one hour delivery service

Ocado has announced it is working with same-day delivery platform Stuart to launch a same-day grocery service called Ocado Zoom.

With Ocado Zoom customers can have their groceries delivered within an hour of ordering online. This would make the service among the fastest in the UK.

After the order is made on the Ocado platform, a Stuart dispatcher will allot the delivery to the best suited independent courier to make for the fastest and most efficient delivery. Tracking is available on the Ocado website and app, as well as feeding into the Ocado and Stuart systems for internal tracking.

David Saenz, Chief Operating Officer at Stuart: “We are thrilled to be partnering with industry leader and innovator Ocado on Zoom and are excited to be enabling faster grocery delivery at such a pivotal time for this industry. By bringing together both companies’ cutting-edge technologies, we have built a service which facilitates the grocery shopping experience and gives consumers quicker and more flexible access to grocery shopping, matching their own fast-paced lives. This sector is quickly evolving and we are excited to be at the forefront of it.”
