Omniva offers contactless delivery

Estonian postal operator Omniva is offering safe-place and signature-free parcel delivery.

Omniva parcel recipients can now arrange for parcels to be left in a safe place should they not be at home for the delivery. Instead of signatures, Omniva parcel delivery staff can now take a photo of the parcel at the delivery site.

Signature-free delivery will also apply to where the parcel is given to the customer at the door. Instead of coming within social distance the courier will still photograph the parcel, allowing for a contactless delivery.

“We are listening to our clients’ requests and will start issuing parcels using a simplified procedure – this way, the parcels will arrive faster and also with as little physical contact as possible,” said Omniva Tallinn Terminal Manager Anneli Undrest. “We tested the simplified parcel issuing procedure as a pilot project in six cities and client feedback was positive everywhere.”

The new procedures only apply to Estonian deliveries and inbound parcels from Lithuania and Latvia.
