Online retailers face festive season delivery time bomb warns Parcelhub

According to parcel aggregator, Parcelhub, UK online retailers could have serious problems with their deliveries unless they plan ahead. Black Friday is set to see increases in sales of 15% for the online market, and couriers are asking for accurate daily delivery forecasts over the festive period.

Managing Director of Parcelhub, Mark Rosenburg said of the upcoming festive season, “Nearly four times the number of shoppers are expected to place an order online on Black Friday this year compared to 2014 and this is predicted to increase parcel volumes by 15%.”

Ahead of Black Friday and the Christmas shopping season, courier companies are asking for accurate daily forecasts of deliveries, and may not pick up any more packages for delivery to customers than that planned for. This could be incredibly difficult for small, ambitious companies should they see an unexpected glut in demand.
