Panattoni to build a new Crawley logistics hub

A new speculative last-mile logistics park in Crawley, SE England is being planned by industrial developers Panattoni.

The 202,200 square foot logistics park will be called Panattoni Park Crawley, and is in the Manor Royal Business District on a 10 acre brownfield site that the developer has just bought from Aberdeen Standard Investments.

The firm is looking to submit an outline planning application in the fourth quarter of this year with a view to demolition and construction taking place in the first half of next year, completing in the first quarter of 2023. The aim will be for Panattoni to pre-let the space during construction that could be one large unit or two smaller units.

Panattoni is committed to a significant speculative development programme in the UK this year, in response to strong demand for more warehousing and logistics hubs. The company has already acquired or progressed nearly 10 million square feet of developments since March 2020.

The site is located close to London Gatwick Airport and is home to more than 600 businesses over 540 acres of space.

Tony Watkins, development director at Panattoni, said: “This is a rare opportunity to acquire such a well-located site, as land in the south east for building a logistics facility of this scale is very scarce. This is a great site for accessing London.”
