With the continuing high demand for parcel deliveries, Parcelforce has paused its express48large service.
The suspension of the large parcel delivery service as of the 6 July follows the recent suspension of the express24large service as the Royal Mail owned parcel operator struggles to meet demand for parcel deliveries across its network.
According to a statement on the Parcelforce website, “This temporary suspension is in place to enable us to effectively manage volumes and ensure our people can operate safely. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
SameDay collections have also been suspended by the delivery company. Parcelforce has a number of other service suspensions in place.
The company says in a statement, “We are continuing to experience unprecedented volumes in our network and as a result we are making the necessary ongoing operational changes to ensure we keep our people and our customers safe, as we attempt to deliver the best possible service that we can in these extraordinary circumstances. Due to the current situation, this has had a significant impact on our ability to maintain our usual service levels, so we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
