Online delivery hub ParcelHero has re-introduced its online tool that tracks the last order dates for most of the major online retailers in the UK from Firebox to Harrods.
David Jinks, ParcelHero’s Head of Public Relations, said, ‘While we wouldn’t want to encourage last-minute orders, because of the risk of gifts missing Christmas Day, we think it’s best to make sure shoppers are fully informed of the cut-off dates for placing orders. There’s quite a chasm between the best and worst delivery cut offs from the UK’s biggest stores.
“Last year Argos stole the crown as the saviour of the most procrastinating shoppers: with its same day service still delivering on Christmas Eve. This year a number of other well-known retailers are also taking Christmas orders on the 24th, including Net-A-Porter.”
Jinks added: “When we first released this tool in 2014 Very was far ahead of other retailers with a deadline of 23rd December. Now outlets such as ASOS, New Look, PC World and Cath Kidston all take orders on the 23rd and it’s almost the norm. This shows how important delivery choices have become to consumers – indeed this Christmas they are likely to be as big a factor as price when shoppers come to chose where they buy their gifts.”
Christmas is very much the peak of the peak season and late deliveries can cause major issues for customers.
