ParcelPoint extends service to Amazon

Australian parcel collection service ParcelPoint has extended its service to Amazon customers. This will considerably extend the company’s reach in the country in terms of online customers it serves, with the international online giant’s customers also being able to use the service.

ParcelPoint is an online shopping drop off and pick up service that operates across Australia, with over 1,000 points nationwide. Customers can have their goods delivered there if they know they will be out on the day of delivery, and where returns are necessary they can use the ParcelPoint service to send their goods back to the e-tailer.

ParcelPoint General Manager said of the new offer, “We are delighted to be working with Amazon to offer online shoppers a new way to ship their products to Australia.

By providing access to our ParcelPoint stores across the country, which are open late and at weekends, Amazon is adding unparalleled convenience for their customers. As the holiday season approaches, shoppers can choose to have their orders shipped to a ParcelPoint location, ensuring gifts remain a surprise until they are unwrapped without having to worry about missing an important delivery.”

Amazon said in a statement, “We are proud to offer customers in Australia a convenient option for picking up their parcel when it works for them.”

ParcelPoint is one of a number of online drop off or pick up point companies springing up around the world as part of an identified need by online commerce customers. Many of the larger online companies have contracts with specific companies or have options of their own, and Parcel Point has opened a new avenue for Australian customers to get their goods from a convenient location in their area. This should make life easier for those shopping with major online stores.
