In return for support of their local post office, An Post owned Post Insurance is encouraging home owners and drivers to tell them their insurance renewal dates.
This is a sales exercise by Post Insurance, but while customers will be sold insurance products, a commission will be sent to their local insurance branch for sales made, helping keep them profitable and operating. Under the scheme, a first commission is given to the post office for the customer releasing those details and a second should a sale be made.
Changing insurers is perceived as a bother and a pain, but in Ireland it is estimated that by shopping around at the end of each cycle, customers can save more than €1200 a year.
Gary Finnerty, Head of Marketing at Post Insurance said: “People like to support local but sometimes do not see an easy way of doing that given their hectic lifestyles. This is a win-win promotion which allows people to support their local Post Office in a small way while at the same time getting access to some great home and car insurance rates and the chance to win a holiday of a lifetime. We in Post Insurance want to work with local Post Offices to bring excellent insurance rates to drivers and homeowners throughout Ireland to the mutual benefit of Postmasters and Post Insurance. This promotion is a step towards achieving that ambition. Participation is only a text away”.
