PostNord is trialling new parcel lockers in Stockholm. Should there be sufficient uptake of the service, the Scandinavian postal operator plans to roll them out outside the Swedish capital. This follows a similar trial and roll out in its Denmark operations.
Some 100 parcel lockers are to be trialled in Stockholm. “It is a delivery solution that makes it easier for the recipients and it feels fantastic to be able to meet the growing e-commerce with a smooth delivery alternative that has been in demand by our recipients,” said Helena Sjöberg, business developer at Postnord.
Access to the postal lockers will be via a smartphone app, and customers can send and receive parcels through the system. “If the trial in Stockholm is successful, we hope that it can be a good delivery alternative for more parts of Sweden, both in urban and rural areas,” said Sjöberg.
Each parcel locker system has 13 doors of different sizes. They are made by Swipbox, one of the world’s leading parcel locker makers and software developers.
