Canada’s Purolator parcel carrier has introduced a new Mobile Quick Stop service. The first of its kind in Canada, the service provides consumers, online retailers and businesses a location to collect their parcels in city centres in the coming peak season.
Ten new Purolator Mobile Quick Stop vans are going to be operational in four major cities, and will be positioned close to residents’ homes and places of work. They will be also open in the evening to allow people to come in after work. The cities involved are Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa and Montreal.
“Purolator picks up and delivers more than 10 million packages across Canada during the holidays,” said John Ferguson, President and CEO, Purolator. “Our Mobile Quick Stops save valuable time for consumers who are picking up packages during the busiest shopping season of the year. They also unlock new potential for online retailers and businesses, helping them get their products to city centres quickly and efficiently.”
The service will be offered to customers when they are not in for a delivery and receive a ‘Sorry we missed you’ note through the door and allows them to travel a shorter distance than they might to the depot.
The Purolator service was piloted in Toronto earlier this year. It is planned to be expanded across Canada in 2019 as part of continued delivery service innovation.
