US based parcel locker supplier Quadient has announced it has now installed parcel lockers at more than 13,000 locations worldwide.
In the first nine months of financial year 2020, Quadient had a 78% jump in the number of packages that were delivered to customers using its smart parcel lockers.
According to the company, the Parcel Pending by Quadient smart parcel lockers were installed at multifamily properties, major retailers, leading universities, corporate campuses and pick-up and drop-off (PUDO) locations. This was driven by pandemic induced consumer demand.
“Consumers, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, are demanding fast, convenient and contact-free deliveries,” said Daniel Malouf, chief solution officer for Parcel Locker Solutions at Quadient.
As well as its base in the US and the Asia Pacific region, Quadient began trading in the UK and is soon to launch its parcel locker solutions in France. Working with Yamato Transport, the Lite model has been launched in Japan as well.
“Following the successful integration of Parcel Pending, already a leader in the U.S. parcel locker market, we have seen impressive growth, particularly in the U.S. where Quadient’s locker installations nearly doubled in 2020,” said Geoffrey Godet, CEO at Quadient.
