Rick Fletcher to be UPS president UK, Ireland and the Nordics

Rick Fletcher has been named president of UPS UK, Ireland and the Nordics.

Having worked at UPS for 25 years, Fletcher is now responsible for managing growth and operations across this segment of the logistics company.

His appointment comes as UPS invests heavily in the district including a £138 million investment in a new hub at East Midlands Airport as well as a new direct flight route between west Denmark and UPS European air hub at Cologne/Bonn airport in Germany.

A UK national, he joined UPS in 1998 as a graduate trainee. He has worked in different roles in engineering and operations across Europe including in Sweden and Turkey. Among other roles, Fletcher has been country manager for Austria and Slovenia and Director of Engineering for the UK, Ireland and the Nordics. More recently he was Europe Region vice president in 2020 where he led UPS operational response to pandemic lockdowns in Europe. In his most recent position he was president, Operations, Europe Region.
