To help tackle its environmental impact, Romanian Post has bought 15 Renault Kangoo ZE electric vans for its Prioripost express courier service.
The vans are to replace vehicles in the postal operator’s fleet that are older than 10 years old, and the purchase agreement will include 16, 22kW charging points that have been installed in the Bucharest head office.
The deal is worth 2.27m lei (GBP £420,000) and is part of Romanian Post’s plans to implement the European Commission Green Pact that emphasises the efficient use of resources and a cleaner economy.
“The European Commission’s strategy regarding the European Green Pact focuses on companies with a high carbon footprint, which influences development policies, including the policies of Romanian Post,” said Horia Grigorescu, general manager of Romanian Post. “The purchased electric vans will contribute to the reduction of noxious emissions from postal courier activities in urban areas.”
