Royal Mail Fleet to work with ARI

Royal Mail Fleet is to team up with fleet management company ARI to offer its services for commercial fleet operators. Royal Mail Fleet is now the UK’s largest independent workshop network.

In mid April, Royal Mail announced it is to open up its UK network of 110 workshops to commercial fleet operators. This follows a pilot project where the postal operator opened 20 of its workshops for 15 months worked successfully. Companies that have taken up the service include the utility giant British Gas.

Royal Mail has released a statement saying it believes the tie-up with ARI will “deliver a highly competitive and compelling offer”.

Paul Gatti, Royal Mail Fleet director, said: “I’m really excited about this and the opportunities it will create.  The combined force of ARI and Royal Mail Fleet brings together two industry leaders with a common goal of helping fleet operators exceed their operational and strategic challenges.”

Keith Allen, managing director at ARI, added: “This kind of strategic co-operation has never been seen before in the industry and shows the commitment of both businesses to delivering innovation, customer service and best in class fleet management programs.”

In a notice posted on the myroyalmail.com website, Royal Mail said that the tie-up with ARI would provide “opportunities for further growth from jointly winning new contracts”. Furthermore, it will also allow Royal Mail to have access to ARI’s contractor garage network when it doesn’t have coverage or capacity in its own workshops.
