In a quarterly reports looking at Royal Mail’s performance targets, the partially privatised national mail service has met or exceeded its delivery targets.
The company delivered 93% of its First Class Mail on the next working day, meeting its target set by the government. Meanwhile the firm beat its delivery targets for Second Class, by delivering 98% of this post within three working days.
Other figures released in the Quality of Service and Complaints Report included the times of delivery of Special Delivery packages and letters (99%), and percentage of items correctly delivered (99.75%).
The report also monitored the Royal Mail’s collection services, which were close to 99% in most instances. The recent partial privatisation of the business seems to have had no impact at all on the carrying out of the service’s primary function – getting post to people as quickly and efficiently as possible.
