Royal Mail sells Edinburgh sorting warehouse

Royal Mail has sold its sorting warehouse in Edinburgh to Hines Global Income Trust for £25 million.

The 216,000 square foot warehouse is occupied by Royal Mail and is located at the Sighthill Industrial Estate close to Hermiston Gait Retail Park in western Edinburgh.

It is a collection and sorting point for all mail at the eastern side of Scotland and currently employs 700 staff on site.

Greg Cooper, Hines UK director of industrial and logistics, said: “The site is a key location for Royal Mail and is well positioned to serve Edinburgh and the wider east of Scotland.”
