Royal Mail is offering its new Parcel Collect service for free to customers until the 30th May. The promotion is for up to five parcels a day, for which the postal operator would normally charge 72p per parcel or 60p for a return item.
Customers pay for their postage online and then book Parcel Collect via the app. Once the parcel is in the Royal Mail system they will receive an email notification as proof of postage.
Parcel Collect was launched in October 2020 and enables domestic customers to have parcels collected from their homes. It also is part of Royal Mail’s clients’ returns portal, making returns easier. According to Royal Mail its delivery personnel have collected more than a million parcels.
Nick Landon, Chief Commercial Officer at Royal Mail, said: “The introduction of Parcel Collect has been incredibly successful. This promotion is an opportunity for all consumers across the UK to try out this fantastic service free of charge. Parcel Collect is part of our commitment to continuously make our services more convenient as we re-invent the way we deliver to and from our customers.”
