SEUR launches Shop2Shop in Spain

Spanish DPD sister delivery company SEUR has launched a customer to customer (C2C) delivery service between its Pickup shops called Shop2Shop. This comes after consumer research showing a demand for C2C deliveries.

There are more than 3,000 SEUR Pickup shops in Spain and 50,000 GeoPost and DPD outlets across Europe and the UK. Customers can drop parcels at the stores seven days a week, and don’t need a printer as arranging the delivery generates a QR code for the Pickup store to scan and print a label for the customer.

As part of DPDgroup’s commitment to sustainable logistics, the idea behind the Shop2Shop scheme is that delivery miles are reduced by cutting out vans being driven to collect parcels from addresses or to deliver them to the end customer. According to SEUR this should reduce carbon emissions by 63% per parcel.

The price per parcel is competitive with prices starting at just €5.40+VAT, and delivery can be done within 24-48 hours (in Spain) after the parcel has been sent. While the service now allows international deliveries to Portugal, France and Germany it will soon be expanded to other destinations in the coming months.

The circular economy and growth of C2C items sales has driven this, with more and more people choosing to sell unwanted goods rather than throwing them away.
