Seven Senders raises €32m in Series C investment round

Berlin based parcel delivery platform Seven Senders has raised €32 million in Series C funding.

The funding round was led by Digital+ Partners and supported by btov. Apex Insight carried out commercial due diligence on behalf of Digital+ Partners, as it did on the original investment in 2019.

Seven Senders is to use the funding towards further technical expansion of its product offering as well as growing the business internationally. This will include opening new service hubs to support the EU business activities of Chinese and US based online retailers.

“Since the beginning, we have been invested in the sophisticated technology of Seven Senders and the high degree of logistical expertise. The last 18 months have more than proven us right. In expanding its international shipping service, Seven Senders seized the opportunities offered by the overall positive market development. So we are pleased to jointly drive the further growth of Seven Senders to make it the European number one in parcel shipping,” commented Digital+ Partners’ managing director and partner Patrick Beitel.

For its 2020 financial results, Seven Senders reported a 100% year on year increase in revenue to €100 million. This led the firm to open new country offices in three European cities. It also enabled to supply a seamless flow of goods to the UK after Brexit from February this year.

“Over the last year, we have consistently pursued our growth strategy. Thanks to investment in technology and employees, we were able to help our customers cope with the enormous increase in demand for online retail in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. We will continue to use this positive market development and expand our services, with a view to include dealers outside of the European Economic Area. We are approaching this development with full focus,” adds Seven Senders founder and co-CEO Dr. Johannes Plehn.

Seven Senders clients include ASOS, Shop Apotheke, Lillydoo, Mister Spex, Juniqe, Flaconi, Westwing, Best Secret, foodspring, Limango and Thomann.
