Stamps.com offers fee free service to senior citizens

US mail service technology providers Stamps.com has announced it is to supply its online mailing and shipping programme for free to US citizens over the age of 65 without its monthly service fee of $17.99 during the pandemic crisis.

The idea behind the Stamps.com offering is to allow those senior citizens to continue self-isolation through allowing them to safely mail and ship their letters and packages without leaving their own homes.

“This pandemic has impacted the lives of the senior citizens of this country more than any other group. We hope that this gesture on our part perhaps might help some of these citizens of our country in these difficult times,” said Ken McBride, CEO and Chairman of Stamps.com. “We want to do our part to help out our senior communities and to make them as comfortable as possible as we all go through this unprecedented time together.”

Using the online postage software from Stamps.com users are able to print postage for any US Postal Service letter or package, both domestic and international using their computer and printer. The user then places the parcel or mail in their mailbox or schedule a package for collection at their home while maintaining a safe social distance.
