Sandwich chain Subway has announced plans to start a delivery service in London early next year.
Subway said that individual franchisees have been using local delivery firms in London over the last year and these trials had been successful – though being run by different franchises the service is patchy and nothing formal had been done to date.
According to a Subway spokesperson, “Subway is always looking at innovative ways to meet our customers’ increasing demands including home delivery.”
It has been reported in other media outlets that UK bakery chain Greggs has been working with UberEats on a home delivery service in Newcastle, and this was later rolled out to London.
Subway say that more news on its delivery trial are to be announced ‘very soon’.
