More Tesco shoppers can access the grocer’s same-day click and collect service. Now shoppers at more than 300 stores will be able to collect an unlimited number of items the same day if they make their order before 0900.

Customers shopping online before 9am can book a two hour time window after midday the same day.

Before the extension of the service, customers were only able to order by 1300 to collect after 1600.

Tesco’s click and collect service has grown by 20% in terms of numbers of customers using the service. The supermarket giant has said that almost 10% of its click and collect orders are ordered for the same day as they were ordered.

“More customers than ever are choosing to use our grocery Click and Collect service which is we’ve decided to introduce a new same day collection slot,” said Adrian Letts, managing director of online at Tesco.

“We offer a range of ways to shop with Tesco and Click and Collect means customers can choose to pick up their shopping at a time and location that suits them, without having to hit the aisles themselves.”

The click and collect service is priced between £0 and £4; this depends on time and day of collection.

Click and collect is growing in popularity and with Amazon’s drive into same day delivery, Tesco’s customers are developing their expectations. This extension of the service is both set to be well received and help drive customers’ expectations even further…
